Monument Terrace is a large 1920s urban park and pedestrian corridor situated in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Challenge
The monumental stairway and many varied military monuments and war memorials had become severely displaced and dangerous.
Solution
Lepore completely dismantled all limestone balustrades and site walls to permit re-grading and terrace reconstruction to occur. They then reconstructed, repaired, and cleaned the stonework. Lepore reset many of the granite steps fabricated a new stone fountain at the base of the terraced stairway.
